General

• We prefer submissions on Beta SP Pal
• Features, documentaries and short films will be considered.
• All genres are welcome EXCEPT experimental and horror films.
• Phuket Film Festival will cover cost of shipment of films ONE WAY ONLY.
• All films accepted must be in English language or have (at least) English subtitles. All accepted films must submit a DVD or VDO copy of their film for press screening in our library.
• If accepted for the Phuket Festival, Festival has the right to play film in separate sessions in Bangkok within SF Cinema City Circuit.
• The 2008 edition of the Phuket Film Festival has not set dates - will be in late September or October.
• Film Festival Organizers will on a case-by-case basis invite film representatives to aid in promotion of their films.
  • If you are invited to the Festival we will provide economy round trip air transportation to Phuket and accommodations in Phuket.
    • Those invited must provide the Festival with one 2" x 2"photograph (headshot for Festival badge) and city of departure and return. Invitees must return to the city from which they departed UNLESS approved in advance by PIFF organizers.
  • If you are invited to the Festival, you will be asked to
    • Introduce one "prime time" screening of your film;
    • If asked, attend one session of interviews with local, regional and international press;
    • If asked, attend one public panel discussion;
    • Participate in activities with sponsors and VIP guests.
  • All guests invited to the Festival are responsible for obtaining their own Visas (if required) to Thailand.
    • Festival can supply a "Letter of Support"

• If your film is accepted for screening, PIFF requests that you also submit:

  • Several high resolution digital or hard copy publicity photos
  • Several copies of the film handbill and/or poster
  • Picture of director and principal cast of film
  • (Press kit if available)
  • Broadcast quality film trailer in Beta SP Pal format. (if available)
